Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats

I love oatmeal and it’s one of the easiest and versatile breakfasts to make! Soaking oats not only cuts down the cooking time, it has many other health benefits too!

Soaking is an effective method used to help break down the difficult to digest components of grains. Oats contain phytic acid.  Phytic acid is an antinutrient found in grains and legumes that prevent mineral absorption which can contribute to poor bone health, tooth decay, and anemia.

The enzyme phytase is activated when grains and legumes are soaked. Phytase works to break down the phytic acid and also helps to release beneficial nutrients, making them easier to digest.

This breakfast is loaded with antioxidants, omega 3 fatty acids, fiber and protein to keep you satiated until your next meal. You won’t have the need to reach for something unhealthy!
