Stove Top Turmeric Popcorn

Who loves popcorn? I do! Unfortunately, corn is one of the top four genetically modified crops (soy, canola, corn and sugarcane) and is found in almost all processed and packaged foods. Corn can be hidden in ingredients such as:

  • Dextrose

  • Malt

  • Maltodextrin

  • MSG

  • Citric Acid

  • Iodized Salt

I love adding nutritional yeast to my popcorn. Unlike bakers yeast used to raise bread, this yeast is deactivated and is used in vegan cooking as a cheese flavour replacement. Also, a great vegan source of vitamin B12. You can find it at your natural foods store or in the bulk bin stores. I used organic tri-coloured popcorn, hoping it would the corn would pop colourful but, it just popped white like regular popcorn. Don’t be fooled like me!
